Sunnyvale, Calif. and Vancouver, BC– May 6, 2010 – TeleNav and Sendum today announced the availability of the Sendum PT200 tracking device for Sprint (NYSE: S) wireless enterprise customers using the TeleNav Asset Tracker platform. The device provides highly accurate location information allowing TeleNav Asset Tracker users to monitor the real-time location of assets, such as high-value packages, cargo or equipment, using a secure, Web-based portal. The combination of Sendum’s PT200 tracking hardware with the TeleNav Asset Tracker platform helps organizations involved in shipping, distribution, transportation, law enforcement, equipment leasing or government operations improve the speed and accuracy with which they locate and dispatch equipment and assets.

The Sendum PT200 is a portable, rugged tracking device that can easily be placed in packages, containers or mounted to assets such as machinery or vehicles. The device uses assisted GPS, a technology combining GPS satellite and cellular tower triangulation data, to provide highly-accurate location information in conditions where most autonomous GPS receivers are unable to get a location fix. The Sendum PT200 is also designed for extreme conditions, working in temperatures ranging from -20° to +60°C (-4 to 140°F). Additional features include:

Organizations can use TeleNav Asset Tracker with the Sendum PT200 to monitor and report the precise location of high-value assets to improve the efficiency of dispatch, ensure equipment is located at the proper job site, and reduce theft of high-value property or machinery. The software uses a detailed, animated map to allow for easy identification of an asset’s location or the path of a moving asset. Real-time alerts can also be configured to send notification of geo-fence events, extended stops, or loss of communication with the device.

“We believe the Sendum PT200 provides the precision and durability our customers require to use our TeleNav Asset Tracker software in their daily operations,” said Ravi Acharya, associate director of B2B marketing at TeleNav.

The TeleNav Asset Tracker platform using the Sendum PT200 is now available to Sprint wireless customers. A monthly subscription to TeleNav Asset Tracker service and a Sprint data plan are required to use the service.
