Jake’s right: one of the best parts of our job is meeting the people who put our fitness products through the paces every day. A close second would be occasional meetings with some icons of the fitness world. During my recent 3-day tour de Boston, I met several. First was
Bart Yasso, Chief Running Officer of Runner’s World … another who claims he has the
best job in the world. Which happens to be traveling all over the world to compete in races ranging from bizarre to brutal. The night before the marathon, I had the fortune of attending a swanky soiree hosted by
Runner’s World, the one pub I literrally read cover to cover. Stan, our director of fitness sales and marketing, knows everybody who’s anybody in the fitness retail world and he introduced us to just a few of his closest friends. Like
Mary Wittenberg, president and CEO of New York Road Runners. Mary wished me luck for the Boston Marathon and warmly invited me to join her gathering of some 70,000 runners in November for the
NYC Marathon.
