TeleNav Inc., the leading provider of wireless location-based services (LBS), today announced the appointment of Douglas Miller as Chief Financial Officer. Miller will be responsible for TeleNav’s financial operations and actively involved in strategic and tactical corporate planning. With more than 20 years’ executive experience in finance for global high-tech companies, Miller brings a wealth of knowledge to TeleNav. Most recently, Miller served as Vice President and CFO of LongBoard, Inc., a privately-held, venture-backed provider of telecommunications software where he was responsible for financial and legal activities including negotiation and closing of financing transactions. Miller also helped lead the successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Synplicity, Inc., a provider of electronic design software, where he served as Senior Vice President and CFO. He was heavily involved in the selection of investment bankers, SEC filings, investor road shows and subsequent investor relations activities. Miller has assisted in completing several other IPOs for companies in the software, fabless semiconductor and online industries. “TeleNav was an early leader in the LBS space, developing key partnerships with the nation’s top wireless carriers to offer the first GPS navigation service on mobile phones,” said Miller. “I am excited to be a part of this rapidly growing, fast-paced company that has emerged as an early leader in LBS. I aim to leverage my experience in guiding private companies through rapid growth, to help continue TeleNav’s success.” “Doug’s extensive financial planning and reporting background for early growth tech companies makes him a great fit for our organization,” said Dr. HP Jin, president and CEO at TeleNav. “Following our recent $30 million financing, TeleNav needed an expert in global finance to oversee the operations and to manage investor relations. We are pleased to have Doug join the executive team and look forward to the positive impact he will have on the company as a whole.” Miller has previously served as CFO for 3Dlabs Inc., Ltd, a manufacturer of semiconductor devices. He was also a partner at Ernst & Young LLP where he serviced global high-tech manufacturing and computer software companies.
